Hi, I’m Sam Trattles


As our Founder and Strategic Deals Negotiator, Sam’s mission is to help more people learn to LOVE negotiating by changing how we approach it – seeking what’s fair and reasonable (not by winning or losing).

Prior to starting Other Side, Sam enjoyed a corporate marketing career, specialising in sponsorships, for close to two decades across Australia and the UK. She held senior leadership roles for brands including Telstra and PricewaterhouseCoopers and has negotiated and leveraged over $500M worth of deals. As a result, she’s one of the most skilled commercial negotiators in Australia.

Sam’s negotiator style is strategic, inclusive, and pragmatic. She likes to challenge the status quo through curiosity, listening with intent and being a straight shooter. Her thought leadership is practical and accessible so people, all around the world, can confidently negotiate their worth.

Episode 1 – Negotiating is a Mindset Game 

This episode is focused on how negotiating is a mindset game. In just 30 minutes we'll unpack ways for you to build a more positive mindset towards negotiating! 
Our expert negotiator, Sam Trattles, from Other Side of the Table has tips and techniques to help remove the frustrations and grow your confidence in negotiating, starting with your MINDSET. 


Episode 2 – Embracing Uncomfortable Conversations 

We all negotiate multiple times per day but it's often the "key moments" that we avoid. You know... the ones that feel too hard or make you feel uncomfortable. BUT... there are risks with avoiding these uncomfortable conversations – one key one being it’s holding you back from negotiating better outcomes! 
Our aim in this 45 minute episode is to help you find a way to stop avoiding these conversations and start to EMBRACE them instead. 


Episode 3 – Understanding the Role You’re Choosing to Play in Negotiations 

You may feel negotiating only comes easily to certain types of people, or that you need to be a jerk to be a good negotiator - or, maybe you don’t enjoy negotiating because it feels like a lonely pursuit. 

Our aim in this 90 minute episode is to help you understand the ROLE YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY, you'll walk away with tactics on how to prepare differently, find your support squad and tips on how to avoid playing to stereotypes.
